Orca Slicer for Snapmaker printers

Orca Slicer supports Snapmaker’s printers, from the modular 3-in-1 machines to the dual-extruder J1. Supported models

Orca has profiles for the modular A350 and A250, the larger Artisan, and the IDEX J1. The A-series and Artisan are 3-in-1 machines that also do laser and CNC work. A slicer only handles the printing side. The J1 is a dedicated dual-extruder printer with independent tool heads, which opens up two-colour, copy and mirror printing.

Connecting and setup

Pick your exact Snapmaker model when adding the printer, so the correct build size and start code load. An A250, A350 and Artisan are all different sizes. Snapmaker machines print from a file transferred over the network or from a USB drive. If your model is missing, a generic Marlin profile matched to your bed size gets you going.

The J1 and dual extrusion

The J1’s two independent extruders let it print in two colours or two materials, and copy and mirror modes print two objects at once. Set this up as a dual-extruder or multi-material job, and confirm the tool changes and purging on a small test print before a long one. For single-material prints, one extruder works just like a normal printer.
